We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join the engineering team at Restart Technology and build and integrate practical AI solutions into our products and client projects across the GCC, North America, and Europe, from large language models (LLMs), RAG systems, and AI agents through to production deployment. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cairo.

What you will do

  • - Design and build practical AI solutions inside products and client systems, such as intelligent assistants, search, summarization, and classification.
  • - Work with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and evaluating and improving output quality.
  • - Build RAG systems, vector databases, and data processing pipelines.
  • - Build AI agents and workflow automations and connect them to existing systems through APIs.
  • - Develop backend services and APIs to deploy models and solutions in production.
  • - Monitor performance, cost, latency, quality, security, and data privacy of deployed solutions.
  • - Experiment with and evaluate new models and tools, and propose innovative solutions to client needs.
  • - Collaborate with development and product teams to turn ideas into deliverable features.
  • - Document solutions and share knowledge across the team.

What we are looking for

  • - 4+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years on AI or machine learning projects.
  • - Strong Python skills and experience building backend services and APIs.
  • - Hands-on experience working with LLMs through provider APIs or open-source models.
  • - Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant).
  • - Experience building AI agents and working with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
  • - Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation.
  • - Experience with databases, Git, and Docker.
  • - Awareness of AI safety, data privacy, and best practices.
  • - Good English (reading, writing, and speaking) to work with technical documentation and international clients.
  • - Ability to work on-site from our Cairo office under the hybrid schedule.
  • - Nice to have: experience with Arabic NLP.
  • - Nice to have: experience with model fine-tuning, MLOps tools, and cloud services.
  • - Nice to have: experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, or with computer vision and speech projects.
  • - Nice to have: experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n or Make.
